on December 17, 2009 after 2 1/2 year battle with Cancer.

Dick Salzmann passed last month.
- Welcome to two new
probationary members: Sam and Anthony (Tony) Sandoval who
joined in October 2009.

- Due to the Christmas Holiday,
the December Operation Session is the third Monday instead of

- Long-time member Bill Rupert
passed away suddenly on Monday, August 24, 2009. Unknown to
the club members, Bill was suffering from colon cancer. Bill
did not recover from a seven hour surgery to repair colon damage
caused by the cancer. Septic shock was the ultimate cause of
his death.

- Club Dues have been
reduced from $15 to $10 for active members and $10 to $5 for
other member categories.
- The Annual Open House
has been set for Saturday, April 18, 2009
from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- The Rock Island Technical
Society is selling raffle tickets for $20. The club
voted and bought one ticket. Winnings if any will be
donated to the club treasury Interested members should
contact Ken Roehrs.
- The NRMA Meeting on February 7,
2009 will include a tour of Midwest Trains.
